A Closer Look at the Bears 2012 Schedule
Week
1 - Friday, August 24th, 2012 - St. Joseph at Marshall - 7:00 PM -
Marshall Stadium
The Bears look for their third straight win over Marshall and would even the all time series with the Redhawks with a win to open the season. St. Joe has won four of the last five against Marshall, including a 44-13 decision to begin the 2011 season at Dickinson Stadium. It's the 10th time in 12 seasons that the Bears have played Marshall, the most of any non division matchup in the Big 16's history.

2 - Friday, August 31st, 2012 - Battle Creek Lakeview at St. Joseph - 7:00 PM
- Dickinson Stadium
St. Joe has won the last two games against the Lakeview Spartans, however if you ask Battle Creek Lakeview they'll say it's only one. St. Joe did win 14-9 last year, however in 2004, Lakeview was forced to forfeit their 35-20 win as well as three more games after the Spartans used an ineligible player. It's only the second time Lakeview has played at the new Dickinson Stadium.

3 - Friday, September 7th, 2012 - Benton Harbor at St. Joseph - 7:00 PM -
Dickinson Stadium
The St. Joe River Rivalry gets an early start this season as the Bears and Tigers meet at Dickinson Stadium, St. Joe will be looking for their seventh straight win over the Tigers. Benton Harbor finished at 1-8 last season and are lead by new coach Derrick Randolph. St. Joe won last year at Filstrup Field 37-14.

4 - Friday, September 14th, 2012 - St. Joseph at Portage Northern -
7:00 PM - McCamley Field
The Bears will be looking for their second straight win in the series against Portage Northern, the Bears defeated the Huskies 31-26 at Dickinson Stadium last season, St. Joe holds a 29-14 lead in the all time series with the Huskies and have won six of the last seven meetings.

5 - Friday, September 21st, 2012 - St. Joseph at Portage Central- 7:00 PM
- McCamley Field
The Bears visit McCamley Field for the second straight week to take on an old Big 8 Conference Rival. It's a rivalry that's been controlled by the Bears in recent years with St. Joe winning the last five straight, including a 28-14 win at Dickinson Stadium last season. St. Joe leads the all time series 28-23.

6 - Friday, September 28th, 2012 - Mattawan at St. Joseph- 7:00 PM -
Dickinson Stadium
Mattawan come to Dickinson Stadium in defense of their Big 16-West Division title from last season, Mattawan finished the 2011 season at 8-2, and beat St. Joe 28-7 at Mattawan. The Bears lead the all time series with the Wildcats 6-3. with St. Joe winning 4 of the last 5.

Week
7 - Friday, October 5th, 2012 - St. Joseph at Lakeshore- 7:00 PM -
Al Stockman Stadium
"The War by the Shore" will be played in Stevensville with the Anchor Trophy up for grabs. In a rare change, the two schools only met once during the season, and there was no rematch in the playoffs, as both teams lost in the first round of the playoffs, Lakeshore won the regular season meeting 23-17 at St. Joe. St. Joe leads the series 28-24.

Week
8 - Friday, October 12th, 2012 - St. Joseph at Niles - 7:00 PM -
Viking Stadium
Hopefully we'll be able to get this game played in just one night, last year the game had to be played over two days because of three lightning delays, St. Joe won the game 30-18 and clinched a sixth straight playoff berth. Since 1950, St. Joe leads the series 38-23-1 including the last six straight.

Week
9 - Friday, October 19th, 2012 - Kalamazoo Central at St. Joseph- 7:00 PM
- Dickinson Stadium
The 10th regular season of Dickinson Stadium ends the same way that the first season began, with a game against Kalamazoo Central, The Bears won 35-7 last year in Kalamazoo and have won three straight and lead the all time series 22-10.
